This client needed a HIPAA-compliant portal that could handle processes related to child therapy services, ultimately enabling therapists and nurses to manage care, foster collaboration, and empower patients.
The Ask
This internal PT/OT/ST Patient Therapy Portal needed to be a user-friendly platform that simplified therapy for patients and providers by integrating physical, occupational, and speech therapy services into one system.
Therapists and Nurses can access schedules, monitor progress of personalized plans, review therapy notes, adjust treatments, and communicate with insurance companies effectively.
With powerful data management tools adhering to HIPAA compliance standards, the portal fosters collaboration, improves outcomes, and provides a seamless experience tailored to individual needs. It was designed to empower users on their journey to better health with efficiency and ease.
Technologies Used
Our team at Ayoka proposed a dynamic portal written in C# .NET Framework and MVC pattern, with JavaScript for event handling, and Bootstrap that come together to provide a visually appealing and usable interface for therapists and nurses who need to manage patients’ schedules, medication, and other pertinent and personal information.
We prioritized HIPAA compliance standards, using MD5 checksums to securely parse through sensitive metadata, integrated insurance portals with RESTful API integration, and utilized PostgreSQL for our scalable relational database and Hangfire jobs to perform background processing.
As a lead developer, I was also tasked with performing code review and providing actionable feedback to development interns, compiling features for release using Atlassian BitBucket, and updating release notes regularly.
