Opening Ceremony was in the process of expanding its global presence and influence in the fashion world.
During this time, the brand opened new stores, including a notable outpost in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, which gained recognition as one of the best stores globally.
Founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon also took on the role of creative directors at Kenzo in 2011, bringing their innovative vision to the French fashion house.
The Ask
Opening Ceremony needed a robust and scalable website to best reflect their eclectic style through engaging visuals, high-quality imagery, and a dynamic layout showcasing their collections and collaborations.
Our goal was to provide a seamless shopping experience with clear navigation and design with new mobile users in mind. The site also features easy access to product categories, curated collections, and quick checkout.
Lastly, integration with social media platforms, featuring user-generated content, and offering exclusive content or promotions to loyal customers drove further engagement with the site and loyalty with the brand.
Technologies Used
Opening Ceremony’s extensive custom CMS was written using DotNetNuke in ASP Classic, while using CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery/jQuery Mobile to handle the web experience from homepage to checkout.
With our CMS solution, it was easy for end users to share videos of runway shows and create blogs of interviews with collaborators to create a more immersive experience across the brand site.
